Masonic Gavel

Origin/date 

I assume UK, since I bought it there and since the moto of the United Grand Lodge of England is engraved on the head of the gavel (see description). 19th century (?)

Material and dimensions

Ivory, 16 cm long, head is 5 cm x 4 cm

Description

On the two sides of the head is an eye engraved with glory rays around it. In the middel you find “AVDI VIDE TACE”  (Hear See be Silent). On the beginning of the handle a square and compass is engraved.
