This presentation cane was presented to Theodore Winfield Benedict, in 1888, in recognition of his service as lodge secretary. Theodore Benedict was born 26 May 1847 and died 4 July 1908
Material and dimensions
Description
Presentation gold cane, highly decorated with scrolls, geometric ribbons and floral designs with panels on the top and front bearing the message “New Canaan, Conn. Jan. 4, 1888. Presented to: T.W. Benedict By the Members of Harmony Lodge No. 67 AF&AM” The handle is engraved with a masonic square and compass with the letter “G” in the center.
