Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Apron.


Origin/date 

I bought this Rose Croix apron in Canada. But it can also be an import from France. C. 1800-1850.


Material and dimensions

Satin, gold metal thread, embroidery. 34 cm wide x 36 cm high. 


Description

Traditional 18th degree apron with the pelican, made in gold metal thread, feeding it’s young, as central motif. Behind it the red cross with a rose in the centre of it. On each side the sun and moon. The Pelican sits on a small green embroidered field with two acacia’s. Below is a garland of roses. Under the garland embroidered, in gold metal thread, is Pax Vobis in masonic cipher. On the flap is a triangle with glory rays. On the inside you see the tetragrammaton.
